Huneform · Playable historical worlds

Enter Mycenae · c. 1250 BC

Mycenae at the height of the palace age

Choose a place to fly there. Every building carries its evidence: what still stands, what comes from parallels, and what we had to interpret.

Aerial render of the citadel of Mycenae around 1250 BC from the south-west: the Cyclopean wall, Grave Circle A inside the Lion Gate, houses on the slope and the palace on the summit.

The Evidence Layer

What we know, and how we know it

A reconstruction is an argument. Ours shows its sources. Visitors can switch the layer on; curators sign it off before release.

Measured

Surviving archaeology and documented dimensions: what stands today and what the excavations recorded.

Lion Gate · circuit wall · Grave Circle A · room plans

Reconstructed

Supported by comparative evidence from better-preserved sites of the same period.

Upper storeys · throne · painted floors from Pylos and Tiryns

Interpretive

A plausible choice where the evidence runs out, and marked as ours.

Colours · furnishings · roofs of houses · people

Follows the London Charter and the Seville PrinciplesShips with a source list for every elementReviewed by your curator before release

One world, many formats

Built once. Used everywhere.

Each site is built as a single source world. The same model feeds the playable experience, your exhibition film, object renders and print.

Playable

Visitors walk freely through the city on a kiosk, a touch table, a laptop or a phone.

Why Huneform

Built differently, from the ground up

We are a small studio that combines filmmaking, 3D reconstruction and historical research. That shapes how we work.

Archaeologically grounded

Every reconstruction is tied to documented evidence, and the evidence travels with it.

Browser-first. Online or offline.

Runs from a link, on a museum kiosk, or locally without internet. No headset, no app, no installation.

Built once. Used everywhere.

Playable, film, print and exhibition media from one world, so every screen in your gallery matches.

Cinematic by default

Made by filmmakers and lit like a documentary. It holds up on a cinema screen as well as on a tablet.

Custom builds

Your site. Your collection. Your story.

Mycenae shows the method. We build the same way for the place, the objects and the story your museum is about.

Your site

A city, palace, tomb or temple that has never been rebuilt, from excavation plans and survey on location.

Your collection

Objects from your galleries rebuilt in 3D, shown as they were found or as they were made.

Your story

A route, a film or an exhibition piece around the story you tell, in your languages and house style.

We need plans and publications for the site, photographs of the objects, and a curator for two review rounds. We do everything else, including filming on site.

Studio

Built in the field and in the studio

Huneform combines filmmaking, 3D reconstruction and historical research. Each project begins with the archaeological record and, where possible, with our own documentation on location.

Huneform is an independent studio in the Netherlands, founded by filmmaker Guiseppe Weijermars. Our name comes from the hunebed, the stone tomb that is the oldest monument of the Netherlands.

  3. Curator review

Every element gets its evidence class. Nothing is final without your sign-off.

  4. Final

Materials, light and life. Delivered as playable, film, stills and source list.
